JourneyVerse is a top-down side-scrolling space shooter made with Game Maker: Studio in 2017. I wanted to make an arcade game because we had an arcade cabinet on our school, and we could submit our own games to be added to the cabinet. I was also motivated to see if I could make a better space shooter than what I had made before. Everything in this game was made by me except for the music. This was the first time I started to implement little Easter Eggs into my projects. In the arcade cabinet version, there is a Konami code that gives you a shield and maxes out the player's weapon.
